After reading the constructive reviews of Kindle Readers of “Field Piece”, I’ve split the novel into two parts. Part I takes place pretty much in and around Tehran, Iran. Part II takes place in Tehran and in Azerbaijan. Both parts are included in “Field Piece: The Complete Series”.

Well, first of all, a “field piece” is a cannon or howitzer mounted on wheels, towed by horses or a vehicle, that supports an army in the field.
In my book, the “field piece” is
1. A (fictional) Russian S-25 Dragon 203mm auto-loading artillery piece that is used by Russian mercenaries to devastate the rebellious Muslim population of Azerbaijan
2. In a metaphor, Steve Walker, the protagonist, is a big gun deployed to the field (Iran and Azerbaijan). Of course, his boss considers him a loose cannon, but you’ll have to read the book to find out why!
The astute reader familiar with Russian artillery will know that the cannon portrayed on the cover of FIELD PIECE is not a 203mm cannon circa 1990’s. Do you know what it is? Hint: It’s a WWII era cannon.

In Field Piece the government of Azerbaijan calls in Russian mercenaries to put down a brewing Muslim rebellion. That strategy works until the Muslim freedom fighters suddenly begin using black market American high-tech weapons to blow Russian planes and helicopters from the sky.
Russia complains to the U.S., and Washington sends agent Steve Walker to Iran to stop the flow of black market weapons to the rebels. But Steve has his own agenda, including killing his half-Iranian brother, responsible for the death of their parents, and who is now head of the Azeri secret police.
Can Steve stop the trade in black market weapons and kill his brother? Well, he’s going to have a tough time, especially when he tangles with a Persian femme fatale who is a little too involved in the whole mess …
